So, what is a yin flow versus a yang flow?  Yin and Yang are relative terms.  They are best described in a comparison and or relation to other.  Sun is utmost yang and Moon is utmost yin.  Everything in between falls into the spectrum of yin and yang.  Based on the students that show up for practice, the season of the year, the time of day the yin or yang class will be different.  Ultimately, every class is designed to promote balance within the practitioner.  The theme, Yin Flow or Yang Flow will be slightly more geared toward Yin activities versus Yang activities.

Yin activities often involve more floor work, forward bends, longer holds, utilization of props such as bolsters, blocks, and straps. This style of class benefits those that are in need of nourishment, stress release, and is great for people that live frantic/hectic lifestyles.  We offer tools in the yin class that you can practice at home for working with chronic conditions such as back pain.

Yang activities often involve more sun salutations, standing postures, and vinyasas (linking movements between postures). This class is great to move stuck energy (stagnation) and helps vent off sluggishness.

Every class will have both yin and yang activities because ultimately we are striving for balance.  We offer up modifications to cater to the entire spectrum of yoga students from most advanced student to beginner.

We hope to see your smiling faces soon!  Thank you for spreading the word and sharing this schedule with others.

Please note that because we are a boutique yoga studio a reservation for class is required.  You are welcome to sign up via telephone at 904.607.6661 or on the “Schedule Online” button at the top of the page.

Have a great week!
